Amuleta is a 100% Peruvian/ 50% Accoyo who typlifies her pedigree. She has two generations of all white ancestors tracing back to records kept since the importation to the U.S.

Her maternal grandsire is Peruvian Hemmingway and her sire, NWA Ltd. Accoyo Luxor, came over in vitro from a dam off of Don Julio Barreda's Accoyo Ranch possibly a Shere Khan offspring!

She has a moderate amplitude crimp with dense fiber from top knot to toes that is soft to the touch. Her conformation is square and straight as well as stocky build with stove pipe legs, perfect bite and a very typey Accoyo head and good bite.

Her 2013 fiber sort showed 8 out of 10 on brightness, 2 out of 5 for density, 6 out of 8 for uniformity of micron with moderate amplitude, medium 7-8 crimps per inch. She had 57.6 oz. of WL 3-4 on her blanket and 15.9 oz. WL 1-2 on her neck.

In 2016 Amuleta was still in the top 2% of the National herd in staple length, top 15% for fleece weight, top 17% for %M and 20% for fineness at her 12th shearing!

Whether you are interested in purchasing high quality alpacas for breeding, show, fiber or selecting a herd sire to breed to, you should use Expected Progeny Differences (EPDs) as your most important selection tool in addition to evaluating phenotype and genetics. Our herd has some of the highest EPD accuracy ratings due to breeding some of the best genetics and due to the shear number of these genetics in the EPD database. Consequently you can also increase the probability of creating ideal offspring with up to 95% accuracy. Contact us to learn more about using EPDs. We have been using them to improve our herd since 2008.
